Putin: Russia’s GDP falls 3.6% now, slower than in EU, US
MOSCOW, Dec 17 (PRIME) -- The Russian economy has suffered from the coronavirus pandemic, but the gross domestic product (GDP) has decreased by just 3.6%, less than in the U.S. and many E.U. countries, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday during his annual news conference.
“Our GDP contraction stands at 3.6% at the moment. It is less than in almost all leading countries of Europe, the E.U. It is less than in the U.S. In some European countries, GDP fell by up to 9%, like in the U.K. as of today,” he said.
